Tsunami Death Toll at 150,000
The death toll in the SE Asia Tsunami is now up to 150,000 and expected to go even higher. It is hard to comprehend the magnitude of this.
Not a very good way to ring in the New Year.

Merry #$&@*$& Christmas !
Merry Christmas... kids were sick...spent the day just hanging around the house.
Wrote this little poem to sum up the day...
'Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house
not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse.
The stockings were hung by the entertainment center with care,
in hopes that St. Nicholas soon would be there.
The children were nestled all snug in their beds,
while visions of expensive toys danced in their heads.
And Mama in her 'G string, and I in my cap,
had just passed out for a long winter's nap.
When out in the sun room there arose such a clatter,
I sprang from the couch to see what was the matter.
Away to the sun room I flew like a flash,
slid on the hardwood and almost fell on my ass.
The moon on the breast of the yard soaked with rain
hit my beer goggles with a sharp shooting pain,
when, what to my wondering eyes did I face,
but Emily puking all over the place.
As the first shreads of vomit spewed out so quick,
I knew in a moment this kid was sick.
More rapid than eagles, her courses they came,
and she heaved and heaved and called out our names.
Holy s##t, holy s##t!
Was all I could say!
as Marion echoed my vocabulary this day!
To the top of the couch!
To the top of the wall!
Puke was everywhere, had to be careful not to slip in it,
or you’d fall!"
As dry heaves started, the wind she would suck it,
Marion said, your clothes need to get cleaned…
but at that moment I said.. aww f##k it.
This puking continued until past 4 am
if not in bucket, in this puke we would swim.
And then, in a heartbeat, I heard down the hall
Annie running loudly, even thou her steps may be small.
”Daddy”, “I think its time to go see if Santa came”, she said,
I felt so damn tired, I thought I was dead.
Still covered in puke, from my head to my foot,
and smelling so vile, I too wanted to boot.
Yet Annie was excited as she jumped on my back,
and she could care less that Emily had hacked.
Her eyes--how they twinkled! Her dimples, how merry!
Her cheeks were like roses, her nose like a cherry!
and yes she had snot running down her nose, and
if not for thousands of tissues, it would be down to her toes.
Through the darkness I still noticed the smile of her teeth,
and glow of christmas encircled her head like a wreath.
She smiled ear to ear and kept punching me in the belly,
and she didn’t care at all that my clothes were still smelly.
She was bubbly and warm, and in a great mood,
and I laughed when I saw her, in spite of the upchucked food.
A wink of my eye and a twist of my head
I could tell by the clock there was no going back to bed.
I spoke not a word, but went straight to my wife,
just to make sure she filled all the stockings,
so I didn’t end up looking like Barney Fife.
And rolling over next to the puking Emily,
she gave me nod, as she smiled with glee,
They sprang down the stairs giving a hollar and a hooter,
But I heard them exclaim, EWW, Santa puked on my scooter.
"Happy Christmas to all, and to all a good night!"

JFK Reloaded
Yes just what you have been waiting for ... a video game that gives you a chance to shoot JFK just like Lee Harvey Oswald did back in 1963.
This goes to show how sick our society has become.

Today's Word is: Embezzlement
Embezzlement is defined as "the fraudulent conversion of property of another by a person in lawful possession of that property". Crimes of this nature generally have involved a relationship of trust and confidence, such as an agent, fiduciary, trustee, treasurer, or attorney.
In other words...it's GREED.
You have to wonder... Do you really think you're not going to get caught ?
I hope it was worth it. This is very very sad :(

History Repeating Itself ?
There is a saying that "History Repeats Itself", that being said, look at the map below of how people voted in the last presidential election and the map of the pre-civil war United States.
Well... what do you think ? While I don't think we are going to have another civil war, this map tells me that intellectually as a country we haven't grown very much.

:( The Reality of Living in NEPA
Just read this morning that our County Taxes are going to rise by 33%. The County Commissioners ran on the platform that if elected they would reduce taxes by 25%. Last I checked 25+33=58. So my County taxes are going to be 58% higher than expected. Nice. I hate when politicians make statements just to get elected. They state they didn't know how bad the deficit was before they took office. If that's the case then how can you make promises without knowing all the details? The reality is even worse. We live in an area filled with elderly people. So we are going to be stuck paying the taxes. I am really starting to hate living here.
Oh yea...one more thing...it snowed last night. I hate ####### snow !

This is the AD George Bush used to sway people to vote for him in the Red States (where uneducated people live). These ads are not show in the Blue States (where educated people live.)
To back up my theory regarding the education level of the voters look at this:

WWADRD ?
Do you ever get stressed out about life? Wonder what is going to happen next? An easy way to combat these pressures is to think, What Would a Dumbass Republican Do?
I received an email from a friend today in which she posted an article from by Nicholas D Kristof of The NY Times. This pretty much sums up the problems with the Democratic Party in the US. Here are some exerpts from that article.
"John Kerry's supporters are now feeling wretched about the millions of farmers, factory workers and waitresses who ended up voting - utterly against their own interests - for Republican candidates."
To put it another way, Democrats peddle issues, and Republicans sell values. Consider the four G's: God, guns, gays and grizzlies.
"The Republicans are smarter," mused Oregon's governor, Ted Kulongoski, a Demoocrat. "They've created ... these social issues to get the public to stop looking at what's happening to them economically."
To appeal to middle America, Democratic leaders don't need to carry guns to church services and shoot grizzlies on the way. But a starting point would be to shed their inhibitions about talking about faith, and to work more with religious groups.
Otherwise, the Democratic Party's efforts to improve the lives of working-class Americans in the long run will be blocked by the very people the Democrats aim to help.
How cute is this picture ?

"W"tf ?
"As democracy is perfected, the office of president represents, more and more closely, the inner soul of the people. On some great and glorious day the plain folks of the land will reach their heart's desire at lastand the White House will be adorned by a downright moron." -H.L. Mencken (1880 - 1956)
I am so depressed today. First the Yankees lose to the Sox and now this.
The fact that people would put Bush back in office for another 4 years, when having him there 4 more days is too many. I am convinced now that Americans are under educated. We have too many people who can't think for themselves, they need to watch CNN, Fox News, and MSNBC and have others tell them what to think. We laughed at the Iraqi press secretary who would go on the air and say that Iraq is winning the war when our troops were entering the country. Who's laughing now?
Hope everyone enjoys paying $2.00+ / a gallon for gas.

Tomorrow's the Big Day
Get out and vote tomorrow... and VOTE KERRY. Even if you don't like him, he's 100 times better than Bush. Here is a cool site to help interpret all the poll results you've been seeing and the electoral college vote.
This is the kind of support I like to see.
Still not convinced that you want to vote. Maybe attending a party like this will change your mind. If this doesn't, nothing will.

Totally choked in this series, up 3-0, lose 4 straight. This really really hurts. Guess I now know what its like to feel like a Sox fan year after year. :)

Stressed Out
Yanks - Sox final game 7 tonight...It never should have come to this. All day I'm finding it hard to breathe. I can not believe I am so stressed out over this.
I have ZERO faith in Kevin Brown pitching tonight. The guy is a wuss and a $15 million/year cancer on the team. I hope he retires as soon as the season is over.

Drained
The Damn Yankees are killing me. They had a chance to sweep the Sox last night. Leading 4-3 in the 9th and Mo walks the leadoff batter... and after 5 freaking hours the Yanks lose. I am wiped out today. However I have a day off today...fall break for the University.

Crushed !
I just watched what may be the most satisfying baseball game I have ever seen. Yankees crushed the Sox 19-8....in FENWAY ! Yanks lead series 3-0 and can sweep tomorrow.
Even with a 3-0 lead...I have a very bad feeling that they are going to choke. I'm getting like my mother
Anyway ... good day today ;)

Here we go again !
The Hattfield's had the McCoy's and the Yankees have the Red Sox.
Going to be a great series, however I don't think it will ever be able to top last year for us Yankee Fans.
This is the best rivalry in sports. Both teams and the fans have so much passion. I can't wait, and yet I'll be aggrevated the whole series. It drives me nuts.

Disgusted
Watched the Vice Presidential Debate last night. Very unimpressed with both candidates. Disgusted at the blatent lies told by Cheney in an effort to have shock value and in order to change the subject of the questions asked to him. Also felt Edwards did a poor job of getting Cheney to stick to the subject, kept letting him off the hook.
Also...disgusted watching the Yanks last night. They had numerous opportunities to beat the best pitcher in baseball and let them slip away bu hitting into 6 double plays. Their inablity to move a runner into scoring position has been killing them all year and is now haunting them in the playoffs. Jorge Posada needs to learn how to bunt. He kills me. UUUGGHHHH !
That being said I still want this shirt.

Autumn Fun
While raking leaves yesterday I was informed by my four year old daughter that she and her sister couldn't help me rake because she was going to be artist, her sister was going to be a doctor, "and artists and doctors don't rake leaves".
This is my life ...
In other news it looks like Mt. St. Helen's is acting up again. Nothing better then staring at the TV all weekend to see if it explodes. Seems like the Hurricanes have settled down a little, but I have to admit I'm a bit sad :( I really miss watching those weather channel guys battling the storm to keep us informed.

The 1st Debate
Made it home from New Orleans...I really really hate flying.
Anyway...watched the debate. I think its pretty obvious who the winner is. Bush looked like a complete idiot. I am shocked he even agreed to debate. It's no wonder Bush is doing nothing for education in this country. He needs to keep people uneducated because those are the people voting for him.
In case you were wondering what they were writing during the debate, here is a copy of Duuuhhhbya's Notes.
In sporting news Yanks won the divison last night...walk off HR for Bernie Williams. Burn Baby Burn !

That's me on Bourbon Street, in front of the Cat's Meow, drinking one of the 200 beers I had on my trip to New Orleans. No idea why that kid has a bunch of condoms sticking out of his head... whatever? I think I'll need to detox for a few days when this trip is over..ha ha !

Tomorrow is PayDay
Yanks lost again :( Joe Torre poorly managed the game. His fault.
Saw this clip on the web ... it seems the Iraqies feel they are being treated unfairly by the Americans.
Here's a random thought: Anybody ever wonder how Brandy became famous? Where is her talent? She must have a great PR machine behind her. They should put her face up for all the American Idol contestants to see. If she can make it...anyone can. Her eyes are way too far apart. She is like a darker version of Tori Spelling. Every time I see either of them I think of the movie "Men in Black". They must be aliens.
Here in Northeast Pennsylvania it is offically autumn. Of course for those of us living at Newton Lake we already knew that because the leaves have been turning colors for the past 3 weeks.
I read where the Bush and Kerry camps have agreed to debate. These are such a waste. Everything is so scripted, its ridiculous.

Hey It's Hump Day ... just not for me
Hope everyone is enjoying their week. I realize how difficult that can be considering the troubled times we live in. Is anyone safe ? I just read where Organizers Fear Terrorist Attacks On Upcoming Al-Qaeda Convention
If the terrorists aren't safe from terrorism...who is ?
I also recently watched a news story where it shows how the family's of suicide bombers set up these shrines to honor them. They make heros out of them. Anyone think this is a good idea? When someone becomes a suicide bomber we should take that persons family, mother, father, brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles and cousins and execute them. Start doing that and you'll see a sudden decline in those volunteering to be suicide bombers.
On a lighter note... Still laughing to myself about the season premier of Everybody Loves Raymond... very funny.
Anyone want to start a pool to see how long Britney Spears marriage will last ? I say 22 months.

The Next Day
Nothing exciting to report today. Yanks lost last night ...has me bummed. Last day of summer. So we offically start the never ending winter of NEPA. :(
Saw another American was beheaded in Iraq. I'm sorry for his family but he never should have been over there in the first place. It's a shame when Americans have to go to Iraq to get good paying jobs. I find this ironic because I read recently where Tom Ridge may resign his post as the Head of Homeland Security so he can make more money in the private sector to comfortably put his kids through college. It's a shame he can't afford to send them on his $175,000/year salary. Maybe he can find a good paying job in Iraq.
In other news I'm going to New Orleans next week ... looking forward to the trip ... not the flight however.

Day 13067 of my existence
First time I've ever done this so bear with me. I see that John Kerry and George Bush have blogs so if those old farts can have them...so can I. BTW... I hate Mondays :(
These two make me smile no matter what day it is.
Happy 1st Anniversary to Ed and Sarah Lupyak They sent us a photo of the snow at their house yesterday in Truckee, CA. WAY TO EARLY FOR THAT CRAP !!
Yanks took 2 of 3 from the Red Sox over the weekend... GOTTA LUV IT :)
