The GM meetings start in Florida tomorrow. Scott Boras and Arod will be there shopping for a new team. Of course all they really need to do is look to Omar Minaya ... the biggest overspending GM in baseball. He buys hook line and sinker whatever BS Boras is selling.

By going to the Mets its the only way Arod doesn't look like a complete liar when he spent the entire year saying how much he loves New York.

A New Cup of Joe

Yankees got their new manager today, Joe Girardi. I am very happy with this decision. It was time for a change. Can't wait for spring training to start !

The biggest waste to ever play for the Yankees is finally leaving.

In one of the most classless moves ever by a professional athlete, Arod announces his decision to opt out of his current contract during the last game of the World Series . For a guy who tries to PRETEND he is high class ... this was the ultimate low class move. Hey Arod ... I got news for you. Just having money doesn't buy you class. You are the perfect example of that.

Great time at Penn State !

Spent yesterday tailgating for the Ohio State - Penn State game. It was a great day and we got to see a lot of old friends that we haven't seen in years.

The Great Outdoors !

Camped out with girls last night ... very enjoyable in the 150% humidity :(

Probably the hottest and most humid evening of the entire summer .

The girls had a blast and can't wait to do it again. Dad on the other hand is hoping we lose the tent ! Mom of course used the pregnancy excuse to avoid the experience all together. Next summer we are going to need a bigger tent !

Yankee Stadium

Went to the big ballpark in the Bronx today with my dad, brother-in-law Tony, and my nephew Brad. We saw Shelly Duncan hit a dramic game-tying home run with 2 outs in the bottom of the 9th, only to see the Yanks blow it the next inning. :(

Anyway ... it was a great day and a great game.

Annie made her debut tonight as a cheerleader for the Lakeland Jr. Chiefs Football Team. She did great and we are proud of her !

Dance, Dance, Dance

Spent another wonderful Father's Day at a dance receital. Annie couldn't dance because of her leg and Emily was in one dance for about 4 minutes. :(

I guess I shouldn't complain... a lot of the other people were complaining they had it worse ... they had to go to one on Saturday and another on Sunday. It hilarious standing in line waiting to go into this receital... you get to hear everyone complain about how aggrevated they are that its held on Father's Day ... and they always say ... "it's always been that way". You think at some point people would learn. Only in Carbondale !

New Docks !

We got the dock set up for the summer ... thanks to Tom Regenski of Gresham's Chophouse at Lake Wallenapaupack ( www.greshams.net ) for all of his help.

The Disabled List

Annie's baseball season has come to a close as she has officially been put on the disabled list. She isn't really too upset about it. As long as she is still able to swim she is OK with it.

New Yankees Hitting Coach !

I think I may apply to become the new hitting coach for the Yankees. I was able to figure out why Annie is having hitting problems. Now I am ready to tackle the problems of Damon, Abreu, Cano, Arod, Melky and every other Yankee who also look like they are closing their eyes when they swing.

The Graduates

Congrats to Emily, Giana and Riley, they graduated today from Pre-K 4 at Sacred Heart in Carbondale. Now they are ready for Kindergarten ! Here they are with the support of their sisters Annie, Maria and Molly !

The Boat Project !

As if I didn't have enough going on in my life right now. I have decided to take on the project of getting an old boat up and running. I have a few friends who said they will partner with me on this project ( which means I am sure I will end up doing all the work ;) ... but it should be fun!

If anyone reads this and knows anything about a Glastron Carlson CV-16 boat with a Mercury 115 Hp outboard engine... please contact me ! I know nothing about boats... or motors :( , so I can use all the help I can get.

The goal of this project is take this boat.

It's baseball season in Greenfield Township, PA !

Emily & Annie got their uniforms today and are ready for baseball season which starts next week here in Greenfield Township, PA. Thanks to small businesses like Kurtz Excavating and Jonal's Lawn & Garden kids get a chance to play baseball. Show them your support !

Beware - Cost Recovery Corporation - Scam Artists

I was reading the newspaper today ( Scranton Times ) about a new scam. It seems there is a company called Cost Recovery Corporation out of Dayton,Ohio that works deals with municipalities to charge a fee for the time a police officer spends at the scene of an accident. Cost Recovery Corp. then charges this fee to the motorist when the insurance company fails to pay the fee.

You see ... police are already paid for ... by tax dollars ... so by having them charge for their services should mean the tax payers get should be getting a refund for the amount the police are charging ... of course this doesn't happen.

It seems once municipalities catch on to what is happening they act quickly to repeal any ordinances they enacted that allowed this scam to happen in the first place.

So if you get a bill from Cost Recovery Corporation out of Dayton, Ohio ... call them at 1 (888) 921-4598 .. and tell them to shove the bill up their a$$.

Arnold the Snowman !

Annie & Emily were busy tonight building a snowman. A little warmer today so the snow finally started to melt some. Perfect snowman building weather. Here are the girls with their finished product .. which they named Arnold.

Snowed In !

Second straight day of being snowed in. Wind is causing some pretty big snow drifts here.

Valentine's Day Storm

Mother Nature dropped almost 2 ft of snow on us today ... probably the heaviest snow I ever had to shovel. Now comes the fun part ... below freezing temps and high winds predicted for the next few days with wind chills near -20.

Ahhh ! Baseball is in the air !

Pitchers and catchers reported to spring training today. I can not wait for the Yankees season to start. This year will begin a changing of the guard from the old Yankees to the new Yankees. I look forward to seeing a lot of rookies mixed in this year. However I am kind of hoping they keep some of the better players in Scranton for a little while so I can get a chance to see them play.

Finally ! Ice Skating on Newton Lake

Annie & Emily finally got to put on their ice skates. It's been a long wait but there is finally enough ice on the lake to skate. They had a blast. Hopefully we can start ice fishing soon !

Yankees Cano to switch to Jersey # 24

Yankees second baseman Robinson Cano will give up his No. 22 jersey largely to the demands of Jack Bauer.

A team official told ESPN that Cano approached the team's equipment personnel and said he had felt threatened that he was wearing another number and hoped by wearing the No. 24 jersey that Bauer might avoid traveling to New York to torture him. In a released statement Cano had said he chose his new number because its digits reversed would be Jackie Robinson's old number. However a source close to Cano states it was due in fact to the demands of Bauer.

Cano's uniform switch was first reported by The New York Post.

"I am happy to wear the number of my idol," Cano said in a statement, according to The Post.

"Hopefully, someday he will be one of my teammates, I'll have the pleasure of him not killing me."

Bauer, who has spent the past two seasons in a Chinese prison, is the only person who can allow another player to wear No. 24.

The Post reported that the number switch already might have been relayed to Bauer's'representatives at CTU. However, Bill Buchanan, Bauer's' supervisor, told The Post in an e-mail that he is not aware Bauer's demands to Cano.

"No decision will be made until well after Bauer helps clean up from the nuclear bomb dropped on Los Angeles, perhaps until after the four other nuclear devices are located," Buchanan wrote to The Post.

The move by Cano would not be unprecedented, earlier this year, Los Angeles Laker, Kobe Bryant switched his jersey from No. 8 to to No.24. While Bryant denies it was related to Bauer's demands. Sources close the Lakers star, revealed that indeed Bryant was subjected to Bauer's interrogation methods while in custody in Colorado, and soon after made the decision to switch his jersey number.

When asked his opinion of this latest development, Boston Red Sox outfielder, Manny Ramirez, who Bauer also allows to wear No. 24, stated, "That's just Jack being Jack."

History will say: Bush Worst US President Ever

After seeing the State of Union last night, I think the following paragraph pretty much sums up George W. Bush. However you should read the whole article to understand the author's reasoning.

Historians are loath to predict the future. It is impossible to say with certainty how Bush will be ranked in, say, 2050. But somehow, in his first six years in office he has managed to combine the lapses of leadership, misguided policies and abuse of power of his failed predecessors. BTW ... did anyone hear anything in last night's speech regarding how the rebuilding effort in New Orleans, Mississippi and Alabama are going ? I guess Bush forgot about those people.

State of the Union

Tonight is the much anticipated State of the Union. Where our fearless leader will tell us how great everything is.

In years past it was this platform where we heard Bush tell us:

• 2002 Osama bin Laden would not escape the justice of this nation
• 2003 The full force and might of our military would be used to fight in Iraq
• 2003 The feared WMD's that Iraq had in its possession
• 2004 The "K" report has identified many WMDs in Iraq

WOW ! It is so difficult to understand why Bush has a 35% approval rating when he is so truthful and forthcoming.

Bill Parcells retired today... guess he realized his only success came when he was riding Bill Belichick's coattails. Obviously Parcells was no match for Terrell Owens, and instead of putting up with that idiot for another year he choose to move on. I actually hope at some point he becomes and NFL analyst again an tells us how he really feels about having Owens on his team.

Although he walks away from the NFL, he does leave us with some unforgettable memories.

King Crab

The family came over tonight for steaks and crab legs. Hope nobody has to get their cholesterol checked tomorrow. The crab legs were huge, and the steaks done just the way I like them.

Also ... the "24" season primer was tonight .. and it didn't disappoint. Action packed for 2 straight hours, and two more hours tomorrow. I can't wait. Jack Bauer's best line of the night ... "Drop the coffee !" Only Jack Bauer could pull off that line. ;)

There's No Crying in Football !

The only thing better than watching Tony Romo drop the snap on the Cowboys last second field goal attempt would have been to see Terrell Owens drop a pass that would have cost them the game. Either way .... COWBOYS LOSE ! I LOVE IT !
