Still Waiting !

Still waiting for the ice to melt on Newton Lake. My christmas tree is still hanging on, it hasn't broke through the ice yet. I give it another day or two... not much ice left !

Happy Valentine's Day

Annie & Emily celebrated Valentine's Day with Maggie. They were trying to get her into the spirit of things, but Maggie just wanted to eat ! Hey at least there was no snowstorm this year !

Ahhh Yes .. Spring Training !

Every year I remind my wife the importance of February 14th. The day pitchers and catchers report to spring training. Great to see the players back ... of course with the Yankees its always the same ... a controversy will face the team as spring training begins, and Carl Pavano will find a new way to injure himself. My bet is this year the elastic in his jock strap will break and snap up and hit his eye.

Ice Fishing

In all of the excitement of the Superbowl on Sunday ... Paul Soko and I were still able to squeeze in a few hours to do some ice fishing prior to the game.

It was a great day ...perfect weather, the kids had a good time ice skating, and we even caught a couple of fish.

Eli Manning, David Tyree and "The Play"

Still can't believe the Giants won ! Today all anyone could talk about was "The Play". Eli Manning escaping a sack and throwing a prayer to David Tyree who made one of the greatest catches in Superbowl History.

People have a way of remember great football moments by naming them. "The Catch", "The Ice Bowl", "The Immaculate Reception" ... so I think this one should simply be called... "The Play".

Giants Win ! Superbowl Champions !

I am sooooo pumped up right now ... the Giants battered and abused Tom Brady and the Patriots. Probably one of the greatest Superbowls of all time. I guess Boston will have to cancel their parade on Tuesday.

David "#######" Tyree will now be mentioned in the same breath as Bucky Dent and Aaron Boone by Boston Sports Fans for his unbeliveable catch in the Giants final drive.

It's finally over !

The never ending football season for the Lakeland Jr Chiefs finally ended this evening with the awards banquet. Yes... it starts in July and ends in January. Congrats Pauli, Molly, Elisa, Annie & Nico on a job well done !

Wii'd Out !

Maggie is Wii'd out ... after watching Annie & Emily play their Wii for 20 hours a day the past few days ... she has had enough ! I gotta admit though ... it's addicting !

School's Out !

Last day of school today ... Christmas break has officially started for Annie and Emily ( ... and dad too !)

They were pretty hyped on sugar when they got home today ... lets hope that wears off or it will be a long two weeks !

ARod to resign with Yankees

OK... Looks like ARod and Boras pulled the old good cop bad cop routine on the Yankees. ARod and Boras after realizing there is no $300 million market for him ( probably not even a $200 million market) went crawling back to the Yankees and the Yankees took the bait.

ARod ( in a move I am sure is orchastrated by Boras) made it look like opting out was all Boras' idea and he wanted to be a Yankee all along.

So now suppossedly ARod is negotiating his own contract and Boras is out of the picture.

Looks like the Yankees will give ARod 10 yrs and $275 million. (only about $150 million more then any other team would pay)

At times I am amazed how dumb people can aquire so much money.

Going Home !!!

Maggie and Mom left the hospital today and headed home. Everyone is doing well. Annie and Emily are thrilled to have their new sister at home.

Arod is Shopping for a New Team

The GM meetings start in Florida tomorrow. Scott Boras and Arod will be there shopping for a new team. Of course all they really need to do is look to Omar Minaya ... the biggest overspending GM in baseball. He buys hook line and sinker whatever BS Boras is selling.

By going to the Mets its the only way Arod doesn't look like a complete liar when he spent the entire year saying how much he loves New York.

A New Cup of Joe

Yankees got their new manager today, Joe Girardi. I am very happy with this decision. It was time for a change. Can't wait for spring training to start !

The biggest waste to ever play for the Yankees is finally leaving.

In one of the most classless moves ever by a professional athlete, Arod announces his decision to opt out of his current contract during the last game of the World Series . For a guy who tries to PRETEND he is high class ... this was the ultimate low class move. Hey Arod ... I got news for you. Just having money doesn't buy you class. You are the perfect example of that.

Great time at Penn State !

Spent yesterday tailgating for the Ohio State - Penn State game. It was a great day and we got to see a lot of old friends that we haven't seen in years.

Had a great night for watching Monday Night Football. The weather was perfect for tailgating. Great weather ... chili ... cold beer ... fire !

The Great Pumpkin 2007

Annie and Emily went to the pumpkin patch today ... ( kind of early but we are not sure when the baby will appear so we didn't want the girls to miss out )

The Great Outdoors !

Camped out with girls last night ... very enjoyable in the 150% humidity :(

Probably the hottest and most humid evening of the entire summer .

The girls had a blast and can't wait to do it again. Dad on the other hand is hoping we lose the tent ! Mom of course used the pregnancy excuse to avoid the experience all together. Next summer we are going to need a bigger tent !

Yankee Stadium

Went to the big ballpark in the Bronx today with my dad, brother-in-law Tony, and my nephew Brad. We saw Shelly Duncan hit a dramic game-tying home run with 2 outs in the bottom of the 9th, only to see the Yanks blow it the next inning. :(

Anyway ... it was a great day and a great game.

Annie made her debut tonight as a cheerleader for the Lakeland Jr. Chiefs Football Team. She did great and we are proud of her !

Dance, Dance, Dance

Spent another wonderful Father's Day at a dance receital. Annie couldn't dance because of her leg and Emily was in one dance for about 4 minutes. :(

I guess I shouldn't complain... a lot of the other people were complaining they had it worse ... they had to go to one on Saturday and another on Sunday. It hilarious standing in line waiting to go into this receital... you get to hear everyone complain about how aggrevated they are that its held on Father's Day ... and they always say ... "it's always been that way". You think at some point people would learn. Only in Carbondale !

New Docks !

We got the dock set up for the summer ... thanks to Tom Regenski of Gresham's Chophouse at Lake Wallenapaupack ( www.greshams.net ) for all of his help.

The Disabled List

Annie's baseball season has come to a close as she has officially been put on the disabled list. She isn't really too upset about it. As long as she is still able to swim she is OK with it.
